Frontpage Tenants Moving Picking up keys

Picking up keys

Keys to your new home can be picked up from a Caverion key machine near the apartment. These machines are mainly located in grocery stores operated by the K Group, and the machines are available during the stores’ opening hours.

You’ll receive a message from Caverion three days before your tenancy agreement begins. The message states the precise location of the key machine, PIN code needed to open the locker, the number of keys to be picked up, and the time frame within which the keys must be picked up (usually few days).

If your tenancy agreement begins on a weekday, you can pick up your key and move in on the same day your tenancy begins. The keys can be collected from the key machine starting at 12 noon.

If your tenancy agreement begins on weekend or public holiday, you can pick up your key and move in on the next weekday following the beginning of your tenancy. The keys can be collected from the key machine starting at 12 noon.

Check the number of keys

After picking up the keys, please check that the number of keys matches the number stated in the Caverion’s message and that all the keys work properly.

Contact Caverion immediately if you received a different number of keys than indicated in the message – if there are fewer keys than there should be, it’s possible that the keys to your new apartment are still with the previous tenant or another external person. If you do not report the missing keys, you may later be held responsible for the costs of rekeying the locks. Also report to Caverion any keys that are not working.

Remember also

  • Never accept keys directly from the previous tenant. Always collect the keys from the key machine or according to the instructions provided by Hoas.
  • If you are unable to collect the keys within the specified time frame, contact Caverion’s tenant key management in advance.

Key to new property

If you are moving into a building that has just been finished, you’ll get separate instructions on when you can move in and pick up your key by email about two weeks before your tenancy agreement begins.

If you move from one Hoas apartment to another

Return the keys of your previous home according to the instructions the day after your tenancy has ended by 9 AM. You can collect the keys to your new home from the key machine near the new apartment starting at 12 noon.
