Hoas offers affordable student housing close to educational intitutions in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen. We are a non-profit foundation here to support students, working in collaboration with the student unions of the University of Helsinki and Aalto University, along with several other higher-education student unions.

How to apply for housing at Hoas?

Studies

Apply for housing as soon as you have been accepted to an educational institution in the Helsinki metropolitan area. Your studies must be full-time and lead to a degree.

Explore the options

Explore Hoas properties and the areas where they are located. Good public transport makes it easy to get around.

Submit a housing application

Fill in the application carefully. You will be asked, for example, how much rent you are willing to pay per month.

Keep your application up to date

We recommend updating your housing application about once a month.

When a suitable apartment becomes available

When an apartment that matches your application becomes available, we can offer it to you. Waiting times vary from a few weeks to over a year.
