New homes to Myyrmäki
New student homes will be completed in the center of Myyrmäki by February 2023. The eight-story building has a total of 124 apartments, of which 68 are studios and 56 are two-room apartments for families, couples or siblings. The size of the studios is 20,5–30 square meters and the two-room apartments are 34–54 square meters.
The apartments are comfortable and the surfaces are modern; the floors are oak-colored laminate and the walls are white. The tile floor in the bathroom is gray, the wall tiles are white, and one wall has gray effect wall tiling. There are blinds on the windows and all apartments have a reservation for tenant’s own dishwasher. Some apartments also have a place for a washing machine.
On the first floor of the building you will find a bike storage room with numbered racks, free-of-charge washing machines and dryers, a sauna and a club room. Iskospolku 2 is a car-free property.
The building is located in the renewed center of Myyrmäki next to the train station. Thanks to the train and comprehensive bus connections, Myyrmäki has convenient connections to many places. The train journey to the center of Helsinki takes only 17 minutes.
Metropolia's Myyrmäki campus can be reached quickly on foot, as the distance is only about half a kilometer. Varia Vantaa, Mercuria and Vaskivuori high school are also nearby. With a direct bus connection, you can reach Leppävaara in less than 20 minutes and Malmi in 25 minutes. In addition, the train journey to schools located in Haaga or Pasila only takes about 10 minutes.
There are three shopping centers with extensive services around Myyrmäki station. In the sports park, you can practice or follow numerous sports, run or ski on the track that goes around the water tower, and the famous stairs of Malminkartano are not far away either. In Myyrmäki, culture has spread to the streets, museums, concert halls and schools. For example, the Vantaa art museum Artsi specializes not only in contemporary art but also in street, graffiti and performance art.
