Move-in report

Check the condition of the apartment and submit the move-in report in MyHoas as soon as you are in your new apartment.

  • Complete the move-in inspection in MyHoas (under the Agreements and payments section)
  • The move-in report is available for 10 days from the start date of the tenancy agreement.
  • Report all deficiencies in the apartment, even if they do not affect your ability to live there.
  • Once you submit the inspection to Hoas, you will not be held responsible for any pre-existing damage.
  • For issues requiring repair, submit a separate fault report in MyHoas.

Please note! Using the browser’s translation feature may interfere with the functionality of the report, preventing it from being reopened or continued. To avoid issues, we recommend filling out the report using the English version provided. In MyHoas, you can access the translation via the language menu in the bottom right corner of the page.

Why is a move-in report done?

A move-in report documents the condition of the apartment at the time of moving in. It ensures that you are not held responsible for any damage or deficiencies that existed before you started living in the apartment.

Example

You complete the move-in inspection in MyHoas right after moving in. You notice a small scratch on the hallway wall and wear on the kitchen stove, which you record in the inspection. You also take photos and attach them.

Two years later, you move out. During the final inspection, the scratch on the wall and wear on the stove are noted, but since they were documented at move-in, you are not held responsible.

Thanks to this:

  • You are not charged for repairs when moving out
  • The move-out process is smooth and without additional clarifications
  • You avoid unnecessary stress and extra costs

Processing the move-in report

Note that the move-in inspection is not separately processed by Hoas – its sole purpose is to protect you from being held liable for any damage possibly caused by the previous tenant.

Report any unclean apartment or faults requiring repair separately.

Submitting the move-in report late

You cannot complete the move-in report if your tenancy agreement started more than 10 days ago. The move-in report in MyHoas automatically closes after 10 days.

An exception is if you collect the keys more than 10 days after the tenancy agreement starts. Even if the move-in report in MyHoas is already closed, you can still submit the inspection by sending us a message via MyHoas. Write Move-in report as the topic of the message, and state whether the apartment has any deficiencies or if everything is in good condition. See the list below for what to check.

Items to inspect in the apartment

During the move-in inspection, you go through the entire apartment to check for wear or damage to surfaces, fixtures, built-in furniture, or appliances. MyHoas will guide you through the inspection. These items are checked:

  • Floors
  • Skirting boards
  • Wardrobes and cabinets
  • Walls
  • Air vents
  • Power sockets
  • Ceiling
  • Ceiling sockets
  • Fire alarm
  • Doors
  • Windows and screen frames
  • Toilet seat
  • Mirror cabinet
  • Shower
  • Sink
  • Working surfaces
  • Kitchen cabinets
  • Household appliances

At the end of the inspection, you can also write additional notes or observations if you wish. If you find anything that requires repairs, submit a separate fault report in MyHoas.

Faults requiring repair
