A Historic Student Building in the Heart of Helsinki
Leppäsuonkatu 7 is a unique and historically significant property located on the border of Kamppi and Etu-Töölö. It is Finland’s first building designed specifically for student housing. This eight-story building was originally constructed in 1947 and is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation, scheduled for completion in spring 2026. The renovation preserves the original spirit of the building.
Apartments rarely become available, as the property is highly sought after.
Leppäsuonkatu 7 combines rich history, high-quality facilities, and a central location.
The building offers a variety of apartments, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, suitable for individuals, couples, families, and friends. These characterful homes provide an excellent setting for comfortable student life.
As part of the renovation, all common areas have been redesigned to be both cozy and functional. Residents have access to a well-equipped laundry room, sauna facilities, and a club room.
The club room features wall paintings by Tove Jansson, which have been preserved during the renovation. Inspired by Jansson’s art, the space has been designed as a warm and welcoming meeting place that fosters community spirit.
On the western side of the property, there is a courtyard with seating areas, planting boxes, a playground, and bicycle parking. On the eastern side, there are parking spaces available for residents.
Leppäsuonkatu 7 is located at the intersection of two of Helsinki’s most desirable districts. Kamppi is a lively urban area that blends modern architecture with historic buildings and a wide range of services. Etu-Töölö offers a quieter, culturally rich environment with many Jugendstil and classical buildings from the early 20th century.
Nearby attractions include Kamppi Shopping Centre, Tennispalatsi, cinemas, restaurants, the National Museum, the Music Centre, Finlandia Hall, and numerous art galleries and theatres.
The area offers excellent transport connections and outdoor opportunities. Kamppi provides direct access to the metro, trams, and bus network. The city centre and central railway station are within walking distance. Despite its central location, the area offers plenty of greenery: Töölönlahti Bay, Hesperia Park, and Hietaniemi Beach are popular outdoor destinations just around the corner.
