Two new student housing buildings are rising in Kruunuvuorenranta, welcoming their first tenants in January 2026. The property will offer a total of 137 new homes for students. Most of the apartments are studios, with only a few two-room units available.

The apartments are tailored for student life: functional layouts, high-quality materials, and modern shared facilities make living both comfortable and practical. White walls, light surfaces, and vinyl plank flooring with a wood-like finish provide a neutral base for your own interior choices. A dishwasher installed in the kitchen makes everyday life easier. Waste bins for seven different waste types make sorting simple. Pets are welcome.

Kruunuvuorenranta – a natural seaside idyll

Seaside Kruunuvuorenranta is a charming, nature-oriented area that offers all essential daily services and excellent connections to other parts of Helsinki. The island is surrounded by the sea and features century-old villas, lush parks, beaches, a sports hall, and an outdoor activity park.

To the city center by land or sea?

Herttoniemi metro station is about a 15-minute bus ride from Kruunuvuorenranta. From there, it’s a 15-minute metro ride to the city center or 5 minutes to Itäkeskus. Or you can also reach the city center by sea – take the ferry from Kruunuvuorenranta to Meritullintori. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes.

In 2026, an even more direct connection to the city center will open when the Kruunusillat bridges are completed for pedestrians and cyclists. These bridges will pass via Korkeasaari and Kalasatama to Hakaniemi. Public transport connections will be further enhanced in 2027, when the Kruunusillat tram line begins operation.
