Deposit return
We aim to return your deposit within a month after your tenancy has ended. For deposit return, we need your bank account information. You can add your bank account information to MyHoas even after your tenancy has ended.
Save your bank account information in MyHoas
- Log in to MyHoas
- Click the profile icon on the top right corner. The button has your email address on the right side.
- From the opening menu, choose Banking information.
- Choose from the tabs either SEPA or Foreign if your bank is in or outside the SEPA area. For example, Finnish and EU banks are in the SEPA area.

SEPA
- Fill in your account number in IBAN form. You can check your IBAN number for example your online banking, or your bank statement.
- Click Retrieve bank details.
- System fills the BIC field information automatically.
- Save changes.
- Check that the information you saved is correct.
Foreign
- Fill in your country-specific bank account number and BIC/SWIFT code on the form.
- Click Retrieve bank details.
- System fills in your bank information automatically. Check that the information is correct.
- If needed, fill the Clearing code with your routing number (CC + 9 digit code). You can check this number from your own bank.
- Fill in the recipient’s information.
- Save changes.
- Check that the information you saved is correct.
SEPA or foreign?
SEPA means Single Euro Payment Area. It makes international payments easier since the bank transfer can be made similarly to home country as well as to foreign countries.
All bank account numbers in SEPA countries are in IBAN form.
IBAN account number
IBAN means International Bank Account Number. You’ll recognize it from the two-letter country code at the beginning of the account number.
Problems with saving the bank account information?
If the information gets wiped out when saving, you could try filling in the banking information in different browser. Banking information saved correctly will remain displayed after saving.
Information on deposit return
- Please note that if you have provided incorrect information for deposit return, the payment may returns to Hoas and the sum will be reduced significantly. Alternatively, it may never arrive to your bank account.
- Deposit will be returned within a month after your tenancy has ended.
- Deposit returns begins earliest at 15th day of the month after your tenancy has ended.
- Any lacks in the condition of the apartment, returning the keys, or payments will delay deposit return.
- Hoas can use the deposit for any outstanding rent or other payments.
- If you are transferring to another apartment within Hoas and have paid a deposit, it is usually refunded to you.
- Deposit paid by Kela or Social services will be returned directly to the payer.
