Sustainable economy
We want to ensure a thriving foundation and long-lasting homes that are still in use by students 100 years from now.
Why do we care?
We aim to be pioneers, but at the same time, we emphasize a realistic understanding of the situation in decision-making. This is especially important to us because the core of Hoas’s operations is to provide affordable housing for students in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
To ensure affordability and avoid significant, sudden pressure to raise rents, we must take good care of our finances. For example, we are currently reducing our emissions as much as possible with the available technology while keeping rent levels reasonable.
From a sustainability perspective, a sustainable economy means finding affordable and impactful ways to reduce the environmental impacts of our existing and new properties.
We want to proactively respond to the demands of increasing regulation so that we can promote the green transition in a controlled manner using the methods that work best for us.
Our property portfolio also needs to remain manageable. In practice, this means, for example, not decentralizing property technology too much.
