Skilled people

Building a fair and sustainable future requires supporting skills and adaptability, as well as fostering a solution-oriented and collaborative culture throughout the work community.

Why do we care?

The implementation of sustainability is not just the responsibility of the sustainability team but should be an integral part of all business operations. This starts with the commitment of leadership to sustainability themes. Additionally, our sustainability strategy supports all areas of business. However, strategic planning alone is not enough — sustainability must be incorporated into practical actions.

For everyone to bring sustainability perspectives into all processes, we need a skilled and change-positive workforce. This can be supported through education and communication. Additionally, sustainability needs to be made concrete so that everyone can recognize their role in sustainable business. Often, sustainability goals are set for years — or even decades — into the future, making it difficult to grasp one’s individual role in the overall picture.

And even if we think everything is going well, that might not necessarily be the case. It’s important to ask the staff what sustainability work looks like from their perspective.
