Design a new overall badge for Hoas and win a gift card
What kind of overall badge would capture the best, most memorable, or quirkiest moments of student life at Hoas, student housing, or student life in general? Create a new badge that fits student overalls!
The winner will receive a GoGift super gift card worth 50 euros.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an overall badge that is visually effective, fun, and clever. Extra points will be given if the design relates to housing and Hoas.
How to participate
Please submit your design using this form no later than 12 July 2026.
Your design can be hand-drawn or created using image editing software. The design should be visually clear, and any text should be large enough to read. Please avoid small details.
If you use AI in the design or execution, please clearly indicate this in your submission (where and how AI has been used).
The competition is open to all Hoas tenants who have a valid tenancy agreement during the competition period.
Winner selection and use of badges
The winner will be selected in mid-July. The badges will be distributed at events and at the Hoas office starting in the autumn.

Rules for the Overalls Badge Contest
Competition organizer
The competition is organized by the Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region sr (hereinafter “Hoas” or the “Organizer”).
Competition idea
In the overall badge competition, participants design a new overall badge for Hoas. The winning design will be produced as a physical badge and may be used in Hoas communications, marketing, and other purposes related to the competition.
Participation
To participate, submit your own overall badge design to Hoas via the entry form.
In addition to the design, you must provide the requested contact details in the form. You must also indicate whether AI has been used in the design or execution (how and at what stage AI has been used).
The competition is open to all Hoas tenants who have a valid tenancy agreement during the competition period. You may submit up to three different designs, all submitted via the same entry form.
Entry period
The competition runs from 15 June to 12 July 2026.
Prize
The winner will receive a GoGift super gift card worth 50 euros. In addition, the winner will later receive 10 copies of the overall badge they designed.
The prize cannot be exchanged for cash. Hoas reserves the right to replace the prize with an equivalent alternative.
Requirements for badge designs and evaluation
The design must be:
- Hand-drawn or sketched using image editing software.
- The participant’s own design work, which does not infringe on any third-party copyrights, trademarks, etc.
- Suitable for use as an overall badge.
- Visually clear and uses no more than 3–4 colors.
- It must be in accordance with good manners and must not be discriminatory, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate.
When evaluating the contest entries, attention will be paid to visual effectiveness, as well as how fun and clever the design is. Extra points will be given to designs related to housing and Hoas.
Selection of the winner
Hoas will select the winner from among the entries submitted to the competition in mid-July.
Hoas reserves the right not to select a winner if none of the entries sufficiently meet the competition’s objectives or rules. On the other hand, more than one proposal may be selected as winners if the intention is to implement several different logos from among the proposals.
Notification and announcement of the winner
The winner will be notified personally after the contest ends.
The winner’s first name, nickname, or other name provided by the participant may be published on Hoas’s communication channels without separate consent.
Rights to use the competition entry
By entering the contest, the participant grants Hoas a royalty-free, perpetual right to use the submitted work for the production and use of the overall badge.. In addition, Hoas has the right to use the competition entry in Hoas’s communications, marketing, website, social media channels, and other similar contexts.
Hoas reserves the right to make technical or minor visual changes to the winning proposal as necessary for its implementation.
Binding Nature of the Rules
These rules apply to all participants in the competition.
Hoas reserves the right to make minor changes to the rules and to resolve any questions regarding the interpretation of the rules.
Organizer’s Liability
Hoas is not responsible for any technical issues, communication disruptions, or delays related to participation in the contest that prevent or hinder participation.
The prize winner releases the Organizer from all liability arising from or alleged to arise from participation in this competition or from accepting the prize. The prize winner also releases the Organizer from all liability related to the later use of the prize or any defects in it, as well as from any liability concerning injury or damage arising from or alleged to arise from participation in this prize draw or from redeeming or using the prize. This release of liability does not, however, reduce the consumer’s rights under applicable consumer protection legislation. The Organizer’s liability towards participants does not exceed the value or amount of the prize specified in these rules.

Customer data will not be disclosed to any parties other than the Organizer or third parties acting on its behalf to maintain or develop the service, or third parties with whom it collaborates. Data will not be transferred or disclosed outside the EU or the EEA.

The data controller’s information systems and files are protected using standard technical security measures employed in business operations.
Right of access and right to request correction of data
Every person listed in the registry has the right to review the information stored about them in the registry and to request that any incorrect information be corrected or that any incomplete information be supplemented. If a person wishes to review the information stored about them or request a correction, the request must be submitted in writing to the data controller. If necessary, the data controller may ask the person making the request to verify their identity.
