Apply to become a Hoas host in Kannelmäki!
Every year Hoas houses nearly a thousand international exchange students. In Pasila and Kannelmäki live Hoas hosts to support exchange students in their daily life, help with practical questions, create a comfortable living environment, and organize events.
We are now looking for hosts for Kannelmäki for the academic year 2026–2027 – join us in creating a communal home for exchange students in Finland!
What? Hoas host – a tutor in housing for exchange students
Where? Kannelmäki (Kitarakuja, Klaneettitie)
When? 1st August 2026 to 31st May 2027
What it’s like being a Hoas host?
As a Hoas host you work in a pair with another host. You maintain a comfortable living environment, give advice and support to exchange students in everyday housing-related issues. You organize welcome and farewell events, monthly community activities, such as a game night or cooking together. In addition, you oversee the upkeep of the common areas and manage the bookings of the club rooms as well as the keys associated with them.
The busiest periods are during move-in and move-out times at the beginning and end of semesters. You and your team partner have the freedom to develop the host position in a way you see to be most supporting to the exchange students at your building. You will be supported by Hoas’s exchange student team.
As a host, you will gain experience in an international working environment, event coordination, and interact with people from around the world. The working hours are flexible and fit well alongside studies. We pay hosts 300 € per month. Additionally, you’ll get housing from the building you work at, but the rent is paid by the host.
